What is an adaptogenic face cleanser?
An adaptogenic face cleanser (or face wash) is made with adaptogens: plant extracts such as ashwagandha and ginseng that traditionally help the body handle stress. In skincare they are valued for antioxidant and soothing properties. Deloura's Adaptogenic Mochi Face Cleanser pairs them with cica and aloe in a bouncy jelly, so your skin is cleansed without feeling stripped.
Why a jelly, and why acids?
The mochi jelly cushions your skin while you massage, then melts into a light cleanse. Low levels of natural AHA and BHA help keep pores clear and texture smooth every day, while niacinamide, aloe vera and aquaporin keep skin hydrated and comfortable.
Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) 2.0%
A well-known adaptogenic root, also called winter cherry. Its antioxidant withanolides help skin cope with everyday stress.
Ginseng (Panax ginseng)
A classic adaptogenic root used in skincare to help tired, dull skin look fresher and more awake.
Cica (Centella asiatica (gotu kola)) 2.0%
